A Few Snowy Days

First post since July. Wow. I feel bad. Did things just get too nutty and busy? Or...was I just confusing priorities. The summer and fall were abundant. Now, I've caught up with work (for the moment) and can, happily, blog more often. Reminds me of the beauty that surrounds us—and keeps me focused on this breathing, living entity we call Stowell Farm.

December 10 to now has brought us big snows. Two to three feet. Where do you put it all? I dunno...but we hauled for two days...just trying to keep up. If today had continued that theme, I might be bodily broke. Too bad we can't put on a new back or set of arms when we need them. Too bad the strength of younger years seems to fade. But the sprit does not: Check the beautiful images:

The Big Harvests

I am so amazed. The growing season continues and the days move from one crop to another—bursting on our landscape. Beginning with fiddleheads, dandelions, nettles, burdock and lambs quarters, we move into the garden's bounty: garlic scapes, kale, spinach, lettuce, mustard greens, peppers, and sweet peas. New flowers open each day! Lately, I've been harvesting and drying roses (of all types) and red clover. Also watching the bees hover over calendula. Really...take a deep breath—it's beautiful and amazing.
