Immune Boost Soup! (Was feeling like I was "going down.")

Music night was last Saturday. Someone who came was very sick (you know who you are! xooxo :). That night, I did a lot of my Stowell Farm Immune Boost, but by Monday, I felt I was "going down." To the rescue? More Immune Boost AND and amazing immune boosting soup. Here's what's the what: Miso base (any, but I did a combo of light and red), tons of garlic (let is sit for ten minutes before tossing in the pan), onions, ginger, calendula, astragalus, basil, thyme, seaweed flakes, and mushrooms. Perfect! I sipped on this all day. Don't boil. Gently simmer and enjoy. It's the bomb. Really works.

Green Rabbit Levan and Stowell Conserve Enjoyed in CA!

My friend in California enjoyed a loaf of Suzanne's wonderful Levan with some of our preserved bounty. She's in love with our products! :) She's also and artist, lawyer, numerologist, etc... (it's a long list) extraordinaire. I am so grateful to know her—and receive these amazing pics of what she does with food. She's also an amazing cook and food artist. Go Benebell! I love what you do.

Simple Immune Boost: Miso, Ginger, Astragalus, Garlic, Calendula +

After the holidays (and often during), I sometimes feel a bit run down: I've over done it, seen too many great people, or just plain snagged some kind of a small cold. I'm grateful, of course, but needing a boost—and feeling the desire to "hit the reset button." So, first, I make an immune-boosting miso soup that I leave on the stove (smells great, looks good and encourages me to taste). White, brown or red miso is great (mild to strong respectively). I place some spring water (literally) in a pan, heat and add the miso along with the chopped ginger and garlic. I add some shredded astragalus root and calendula (sort of just because I love the added color). Don't boil this as you'll spoil the medicinal qualities: a simmer is good. Later, I might add kale, parsley...something yummy and green. Second, I get a lot of sleep and then "shock my system" a bit by getting too little sleep for a night. This idea came from Guido and works well to help me feel fresh, alert and alive. Enjoy!
